Doctoral Philosophy Program in Prosthetics and Orthotics  (International Program) 

The Ph.D. in Prosthetics and Orthotics is designed primarily for motivated clinicians, rehabilitation professionals and educators. Students interact and learn from experienced clinicians and researchers with a broad range of backgrounds and interests, and receive training in research and laboratory methods. The course encourages and fosters the development of life-long learning as well as mentorship between students and faculty. Students have opportunities to investigate in areas that are unique to their interests through matching with a faculty mentor. The Ph.D. program is a respected program that offers career training, and scholarship opportunities for highly-qualified applicants.

Prospective students are encouraged to communicate their research interest with a faculty member for possible research mentorship.

Our program is offered through either a distance learning or on-campus format. Scholarship opportunities for highly qualified applicants are available.

Doctoral Degree Plan 1:

Research Only

1) Hold a Master’s degree in prosthetic/orthotic or related fields which is accredited by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or equivalent governing body

2) Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 or equivalence

3) English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University. Please see the detail https://graduate.mahidol.ac.th/thai/current-students/?g=6

4) Research proposal outline in prosthetics/orthotics or related field;

5) Exemption from above criteria may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.

1) Hold a Bachelor’s degree in prosthetics/orthotics or a related field that is accredited by the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation or equivalent governing body

2) Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 or equivalent

4) Research proposal and publication in prosthetic/orthotic or related fields as a research article in a journal indexed in an international database. The authorship should be either principal investigator (PI) or corresponding author.

5) A minimum of two-years working experience in the prosthetics/orthotics or related field;

6) Exemption from above criteria may be considered by the Program Administrative Committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University.
